Okay book for health care fields........2006-09-15

This book is good if you are in the health care fields. There are lots of programs, but there are always some kind of disqualifying factor involved. I found only 2 programs out of the whole book that probably would apply to me. I personally feel that "everyone" should get financial assistance if they are serious about college. I am glad that I got this book at a huge discount because I am not all that pleased with it. And I am sure that by now all of the information is outdated. I think Lesko should update this book year by year with new programs and maybe it will get higher reviews.

I found this book completely useless except for a paperweight or doorstop! What I did find interesting is that Vickie Adkins-Marcum seems to review all of Matthew Lesko's books. Of course Vickie highly exalts him using such phrases as "KUDOS to Matthew Lesko! He's making this world a better place!" For those of you who are a little slow, let me inform you that Vickie Adkins-Marcum is really Matthew Lesko, or someone Matthew gave this review to and paid Vickie to post it. It's strange that Vickie's reviews all start out with the same first paragraph and have many of the same phrases throughout. It is also strange that Vickie only reviews Matthew's books. Shame on you Matthew Lesko for writing your own review!

Why pay for wrong information.......2004-02-05

I am the programs manager for a national academic organization. Someone just called me and quoted a section in this book that claims our organization offer scholarships to girls and women from the U.S. and Canada. Totally not true. It really bothers me when people put out false or made up information and the unsuspecting general public pays good money for it. Clearly, this book was not well researched and was probably just copied from other not-well-researched sources.

I read the reviews for this book and it seemed like a good choice, but I guess I didn't read between the lines. This book really didn't help me in my search at all. The reason: I am a white female, who isn't in high school anymore, who is not already attending a "college" and currently is employed. I was very disappointed in this book. Most of the listing are for women just getting out of high school, for those who are already in school or those who are unemployed and seeking to join a woman friendly job enviroment (nurse, teacher, or science technology etc). I found only 4 listing that would apply to my situation, and all 4 required membership to the organization, before I could get any information about the money offered in this book. Please go to your local book store or library and thumb through this book before you buy it. You might save yourself some money in the long run.

As usual, Matthew Lesko finds a way to tell us about more freebies than we ever dreamed possible! His book is well organized and includes GREAT details on each page.

I work in a health department/WIC office. Many of our clients are single-parents who see no chance of returning to school or obtaining a college degree. By utilizing this book on MANY different occasions, I am proud to say I've seen the info in this book literally change the lives of many of our Morrow County Residents. Many of our parents found money to return to school and now have goals of a better education, better incomes, etc.... and their children see their parents pursuing their dreams. These kids learn that it's a good thing to set goals and strive to achieve them, and that higher education is very rewarding. It really does add to the success of our families here.

I'm very thankful Matthew Lesko found something he loves to do and does it so well! Many of us have used his books and feel they are a BLESSING to us and our families. I know I would not be where I am today without the seeds of ambition Matthew Lesko planted into me many years ago with all of his zany commercials and his "you can do this" attitude. So, KUDOS to Matthew Lesko! He's making this a better place!

Buy if u know about drawing.......2005-10-10

I found the explinations rather vague.... the book doesn't really explain too well the form in which you have to draw, its good at teaching technique materials requires and stuff, but if you don't already know how to draw its a little hard to learn how to draw good anime from it. I didn't get much from this book... it doesn't give much explination in the actualy WAY you need to draw the head and body. And it gave absolutley no teaching on how to draw the eyes... which is an essential part of the anime style drawing, maybe its to get you to buy the other books??

Corruption and pay-offs from food service inspections to septic tank approvals run rampant!!! Being an ex-Naval Intelligence Officer, Ty decides to stay with the job and learn as much about the corruption as possible. Then, with evidence in hand, he planned to notify the proper authorities about the corruption. Eventually, Ty learns the corruption extends all the way out to the Military Base and gets Naval Intelligence in on the game. The plot thickens as he finds out about the Director and a few of the employees are dealing in drugs with a local mobster. There are some morbid murders and kinky sex scenes in the novel. The morbid perversion is just part of the total picture of the corrupt and demented Department of Health Inspections. . . . . . .

Increased integration and co-operation within the Southern African power sector has opened up significant opportunities for reducing the economic and environmental costs of meeting increasing electricity demand in Southern Africa. This paper applies a linear programming model to investigate the economic and environmental benefits of regional integrated planning for electricity, and the impact of including environmental costs in the decision-making process. We find that, from a financial perspective, optimising generation and transmission investments in the region would result in savings of $2-4 billion over 20 years, or 5% of total system costs. Introducing a tax based on the external damage costs of carbon dioxide as part of the decision-making process would result in moderate increases in financial costs (15-20%), but would reduce regional carbon emissions by up to 55% at a mitigation cost of $11 per tonne of carbon dioxide. This raises the possibility of financing regional power projects with Clean Development Mechanism funding, which we explore with an example.
