I fell for the "Your all purpose guide to this versatile investment vehicle" and the title "A complete guide to trading electronically".

It was a good book about the different exchanges but seemed to be more a history lesson than trading guide. If you want to know basics about the exchanges then it may be a good book. If you are looking for a nuts and bolts direct access futures trading book then keep looking.

I did enjoy the book, it just wasn't what I thought it would be based on the reviews.

Disappointed. Another review by a major brokerage employee trying to drum up business. I do not care about the history of the investing world or how the good old boys operate on the floors of the major exchanges. They are irrelevant to the little
guy at home who wants to know HOW, not WHAT. Short on specifics, long on "Boy, do I know a lot that you will never know, but if you try really hard and have the perspicacity of a saint and minimize your losses and maximize your gains, you will maybe do ok". Give me a break! Save your money and time!

Everyone always touts direct access stock trading and how great it is for the retail investor, but Mr. Silverman is one of the first to address this issue for futures trading.

Although I don't agree with everything Mr.Silverman has to say about floor traders, his experience definitely lends credence to the ideas in his book. I have been trading futures for the past 12 years, both as a broker and an investor. In that time I have written three books on futures trading.

Mr. Silverman has done a great job of putting this book together. I definitely recommend this book to those who have listened to my seminars or purchased my books.

I have bought a lot of books about futures trading and after reading them I usually feel like I have wasted my money. That's why this book was such a delightful surprise. In addition to providing useful and understandable information about electronic trading, the author, Mr. Silverman, can really write. It was really interesting to learn about life on the trading floor and how it compares to trading electronically. His anecdotes about his 20 year career in the futures markets really brought to life the pressures and rewards of being a professional trader. I especially appreciated his insight into e-mini trading. For the first time, I understood the shenaningans that the traders on the floor and on the screen pull to provide themselves with an edge over the retail trader. The great thing about electronic trading, as Silverman argues, is that it allows someone like me who cannot trade on the floor of an exchange to compete on a level playing field. By opening a window into the secretive world of the successful trader, Silverman shows that the differences between the professional and non-professional trader are relatively small when trading electronically. His advice has already helped me improve my p/l. As they say about the movies, if you buy only one book about futures this year it should be this one. I highly recommend it.

This book gives you an excellent foundation for writing a partnership agreement. It saves tremendously on the cost of having a lawyer write the whole agreement. We just had to use a lawyer to insure nothing was omitted.

I read the book and found it very helpful with my plan to form a real estate parnership. I found the examples at the end of each subjet very helpful. However, it seems the authors went to a great length to demonstrate to readers that they are NOT gender biased, to the point where one would find himself sometimes cringing. Their objective could have been attained better by replacing all the He, she, him, her, with "he/she" or "him/her", and let each readers to choose the jender for themselves.

I found this title to be all-encompassing if you're considering entering into a partnership - whether it's an existing partnership or whether you're starting up a new partnership. In fact, I purchased another title on this same topic and I ended up returning it because I didn't see where it covered anything that wasn't already covered in The Partnership Book. I feel much more comfortable entering into a partnership after reading this book as I feel that I now have the necessary information to make proper decisions. I strongly urge anyone considering entering into a partnership to read this book.

The authors argue that cooperation may be achieved by augmenting the core product with technology-based services. Given the growing importance of real time information exchange and interactivity, a better understanding of the use of technology to the establishment and development of the buyer-supplier cooperative relationships is essential for knowledge advancement. This paper argues that firms should aim to put themselves into their customers' shoes and use the ''voice of the customer'' to take their major relationship management decisions. To do so, the authors use a sample of nearly 400 SMEs' purchasing managers, to better understand cooperation determinants from the buyers' perspective. The study reveals that in an electronic marketplace, cooperation is positively affected by termination costs, supplier relationship policies and practices, communication and information exchange, and negatively affected by product prices and opportunistic behavior. Moreover, both relationship commitment and trust play a major role in mediating the relationships between these five determinants and cooperation. Surprisingly, resources relationship benefits do not show a significant impact on either commitment or cooperation. Theoretical and managerial implications of these findings are discussed.

To do so, the authors use a sample of nearly 400 SMEs' purchasing managers, to better understand cooperation determinants from the buyers' perspective. The study reveals that in an electronic marketplace, cooperation is positively affected by termination costs, supplier relationship policies and practices, communication and information exchange, and negatively affected by product prices and opportunistic behavior. Moreover, both relationship commitment and trust play a major role in mediating the relationships between these five determinants and cooperation. Surprisingly, resources relationship benefits do not show a significant impact on either commitment or cooperation. Theoretical and managerial implications of these findings are discussed.
