I took a Macro class that used the textbook and we were required to use the study guide. I thought that for the most part, the questions were irrelevant and did not enhance the book. Get this only if it's absolutely neccessary.

The WTO Legal Texts, copublished by the WTO and Cambridge University Press, is a essential reference for anyone working on WTO issues. Although the WTO agreements are available to the public on the WTO website, as well as the worldtradelaw.net website, most scholars and practitioners will want a compact volume to carry and to underline. Cambridge U. Press has put a sturdy binding on the paperback volume. The one flaw in the volume is that it omits the plurilateral agreements, such as the Agreement on Government Procurement. It would also be helpful in a future edition to improve the usability of the Table of Contents.

State-Society Synergy for Accountability is part of the World Bank Working Paper series. These papers are published to communicate the results of the Bank's ongoing research and to stimulate public discussion.
The central question guiding this study is: How can the relationship between the state and society be transformed from a process of particularistic demands into a healthier engagement that produces policy outcomes serving the public interest?
This paper first surveys the literature on accountability and establishes a categorization of the different ways by which civil society can interact with the state. It then explores in detail seven case studies of successful experiences of state-society synergy for accountability. The studies are drawn from a wide range of different contexts (Brazil, India, Mexico, the United States) and from a variety of different areas of government activity including corruption control, environmental regulation, poverty reduction, election monitoring, infrastructure provision, school reform, and police reform. The paper concludes with a series of lessons for development practitioners on how best to initiate, design, and implement successful accountability mechanisms grounded in state-society synergy.

It is based on a European Commission research project led by Mr. Paolo Cecchini which investigated in detail a number of industrial sectors and produced forecasts of the effect of eliminating all remaining barriers to the free movement of goods, services, capital and labour. Both micro and macro economic analysis are applied to estimate that the potential benefits to the E.C. could be as much as 4.5% to 7% of Gross Domestic Product.
