Book Description
The writings collected here are from a school of English thinkers in the 1930s and 1940s who were concerned about the desperate state of modern society. The writers include G. K. Chesterton, H. J. Massingham, Eric Gill, Hilaire Belloc, Herbert Shove, and Arthur Penty. They study various parts of the problem of capitalist society; the origins, benefits, and demerits of industrialism; the importance of art to society and its sufferance under capitalism; the size of commercial organization and its relevance to efficiency; the nature and purpose of work as a concept; and the crucial nature of understanding the present through real knowledge of the past.

Weightless.......2006-12-16
This book is an intriguing read if you are a featherbrain. But it is just an appalling read for anyone else.
Dershowitz walks the gullible, dunces (I mean wide-eyed, intrigued readers) through a maze of "let's pretend we don't see the blood dripping from OJ's hand." After all, how do we know Fuhrman didn't sneak into Simpsons bedroom and plant the cut on Simpson's hand while he was sleeping.
Let's pretend "the bloody-size 13-Bruno Magli shoe print" is from a different big-footed, upscale, fashion-conscious murderer.
Lets pretend OJ was hitting golf balls (with his bloody hand), when the murders occurred, and that's why he was dripping blood droplets all over the place.
Or no, let's pretend Simpson was really sleeping (with his bloody hand) as he had told the limo driver, even though the limo driver testified he saw OJ simpson run across his lawn and enter his house wearinng a dark sweat suit just moments before he knocked on Simpson's door.
Let's pretend the victims blood (that was found in Simpson's truck) was really the result of contamination. You know, mix a little sand with Simpson's blood and, voila! you get the victim's blood to match. Yeah, that makes sense.
Yes, Dershowitz offers the reader a intriguing look at the possibilities. He uncovers aspects of the case that will leave the featherbrain reader pondering the evidence for years to come.
Trials are not Games.......2006-02-23
I'm reading reviews in an attempt to choose a book to purchase. It is amazing to see how many readers have commented that they feel OJ is guilty, but the jury made the correct decision to acquit.
Huh? Did I just miss something?
People, a trial serves one purpose: to determine if the defendant is guilty or innocent of the crime. If you feel he was guilty, then how can you accept anything but a guilty verdict?
It seems to me that you have fallen under the spell of a great defense lawyer. They are not concerned with finding the truth, they are only concerned with getting their client off. They treat the court procedings like a game: "Oh, someone did not follow this rule, therefore we win and our client it not guilty".
Although this is how it works all too often, it is not the way it was meant to be. The rules and procedures were designed to make sure the process is correctly executed. Instead, those reviewers are equating a rule infraction with innocence.
The laws governing the legal process are there to prevent an innocent man from being found guilty. "Illegal search & seizure" is illegal because we do not want police planting evidence. Whether the police do or do not follow law and/or procedure does not prove a man's innocence or guilt. It merely makes the trial process more or less difficult to correctly execure. If the judge determines that evidence was planted then he is to throw out the evidence. If there is so much tampering that he feels the defendent cannot get a fair trial then he throws out the case or declares a mistrial. If the judge takes either of those actions that does not mean the defendent is guilty or not guilty, is merely means the procedures or proceedings were flawed.
In this particular case the defense discovered a few instances where the police did a less than perfect job of collecting evidence. Ok. Fine. Throw it out. That still leaves dozens and dozens of other instances where the defense can't explain the hard, clear evidence of guilt.
OJ is guilty, and he should have been found guilty. The jurors should not have been acquitted just because someone forgot to dot an "i" or cross a "t".
Stop the nonsense!.......2005-08-04
Hwere we have a guilty concience trying to make himself feel better by justifying in helping a murder go free. The arguemnnts are weak and stupid and do nothing to refute the overwhelming blood evidence. What is more is that after the criminal trial so much additional evidence has been exposed that only proves even more how guilty this man is.
A few reviewers seem rather confused.
One reviewer suggested that mark fuhrman discovered both gloves. Not true! The glove at the bundy crime scene was in full view of numerous police officals before fhurman even showed up. Those gloves were a rare isotoner product of which only 240 extra lg were sold at one store in the united states. Bloomingdales in ny and credit card receipts prove that OJ owned 2 pair. I wonder how many other los angelas residents owned any of those 240 pairs of gloves sold 4 years ago in new york? Not many? Where would mark fhurman even get a pair of he wanted them and how in the hell did he know OJ's glove size?
Another reviewer suggested the crime was commited at 11:15 which is interesting because simpson's own defense team suggested the murders took place around 10:40. The discrepancy of time comes from when witnesses heard nicole's dark frantically barking. Witnesses saw nicoles dog barking nonstop with blood on her chest area at around 10:30-10:40. Where did the blood come from if ther murders have not been commited yet?
That same lame brained reviewer also said that OJ had nary a scratch on him. Really? What about the severe cut on his left middle finger that bled all over his property? In simpson's interview with police the next day he actually volunteers that he cut himself getting something out of his car. Cut himself at around the exact time the murders were commited? What a one in a million coincidence.
What about all of OJs blood at the crime scene? What about ron and nicole's blood in OJ's bronco? What about blood from all three on the rockingham property? Who was that running behind OJ's house bumping into the airconditioner at around 10:45 if it wasn't OJ frantically returning from the murders? Who was that 6 foot 200 lb black man the limo driver identified as walking into OJ's house at around 10:50?
Only idiots and the ignorant blind can honestly claim that OJ is innocent. If dershowitz needs to clean his concience he should talk to a rabbi.

Stimulating, but not compelling.......2003-12-05
Dershowitz raised some very interesting and important issues, but for the most part tries (unsuccessfully) to justify his own lack of integrity. Everyone alive during the Simpson trial knows he's guilty as sin and ought to rotting away in prison. No amount of explanation/interpretation is going to change that. He's guilty. Dershowitz thinks people are so upset because they don't understand all the issues. But that's not true. What so infuriates the general public is that we know he's guilty, we know his defense team knew he was guilty and yet he's free. What disgusts so many people about Dershowitz (and other defense attorneys) is not that he's white and defended a black man, or that he defended someone who mudered a fellow Jew, but that he worked so hard to suppress the truth and set a guilty man free. He didn't strive for truth or justice; he was only concerned with winning. Everyone, no matter how much evidence there is against them deserves a fair trial. But Dershowitz and most other defence attorneys don't want a fair trial. They look for ways to subvert the truth and hide the evidence--and there's no way anyone can call that justice.
Deaf, Dumb and Blind.......2003-06-05
Alan Dershowitz is deaf, dumb and blind and anyone who doesn't realize this needs help quickly. He has twisted and turned facts so that he can justify his stance with the OJ deal. OJ murdered Nichole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Anyone who can have their brain muddeled by the ravings of this Dershowitz lunatic, needs a dose of reality. OJ was found not guilty in the criminal trial because of, 1.The shenanigans by Johnny Cochroach, Flea Bailey, Carl Douglas, Barry Sheick (spelled wrong) and most importantly Judge Ito, 2. The ignorant, and uneducated jurors who couldn't find their way out of a brown paper sack. Folks, I hate to break the news to you, but there is no "Tooth Fairy"....

Alan Dershowitz, arguably one of the foremost legal thinkers of our time, gives an eye-opening account of the O.J. Simpson case and examines the larger issues of race, money, media, and gender that shape the criminal justice system in America.
Book Description
Alan Dershowitz, one of the foremost legal thinkers of our time, explores a series of questions raised by the most-watched criminal trial in American history. Through this brilliant, eye-opening account of the O.J. Simpson case, he exposes the realities of the criminal justice system of this country.
Here, Professor Dershowitz examines the issues and social forces -- media, money, gender, and race -- that shape the criminal justice system in America today. Among the fascinating questions raised:
- Was this really a case of circumstantial evidence?
- Did Simpson's wealth "buy" the acquittal?
- How could one of the longest trials in the history of America's judicial system produce a verdict after less than four hours of jury deliberation?
Reasonable Doubts is a work of lasting importance; it will force us to rethink our assumptions, not only about the case itself but about the strengths -- and weaknesses -- of the criminal justice system in America today.
This book is for the many thoughtful observers who sincerely and understandably believe that O.J. Simpson murdered Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman, and that the jury's verdict of Not Guilty was therefore a miscarriage of justice...
Customer Reviews:
No doubt.......2005-01-03
This is just another lawyer capitalizing on the infamy of this trial to make a ton of money. He doesn't even try to convince of O.J.'s innocence because that would be impossible.
Regarding the two pieces of evidence the other reviewer mentioned 'proving' O.J.'s innocence, neither is pertinent. Neither was featured prominently by the defense, nor mentioned by the jurors as a reason for acquittal. The defense itself put the time of the murders at 10:45, rendering the 'red blood''evidence' as unimportant since their OWN time-line would have been made a lie of. The blood under the fingernails was degraded blood which can not be typed-but the fingers were found in a pool of her own blood making it extraordinarily likely that it was her own blood.
Consider the following:
--Simpson had a fresh cut on his finger and his blood was found in his home, in the Bronco and at Nicole's residence. If he hadn't had a cut big enough to bleed there would have been no case. A pretty extraordinary coincidence.
--Simpson had been given gloves, like the ones found, by Nicole and had been photographed wearing them. He said he had never owned those "ugly as# shoes" (Bruno Magli) but then a photo was found with him wearing those exact shoes. He had bought a knife the size of the one used, which was never found.
--The limo driver never saw a white Bronco before 11:00 despite going to both entrances. He rang the door bell many times but received no answer until almost 11:00.
--Kato heard a VERY loud bump behind his room at the very time Simpson was alleged to have been there, and at the exact place where the glove was found.
--MANY police officers were alleged to have been in on the 'plot', but neither the defense nor Simpson ever pushed for an investigation, nor did they put any effort into finding the 'real' killer.
--Furman, the supposed 'leader' of the plot, only arrived long after many other police officers, none of which saw a second glove at the crime scene.
This is only the tip of the iceberg but should be enough to convince any honest person. One of the real low points in U.S. legal history.
No Doubt on Not Guilty.......2000-04-29
The testimony of the two witnesses who cannot lie say that OJ Simpson is not guilty.
Blood and flesh were found under Nicole Brown's fingernails; the blood type did not match OJ (or Nicole or Ron). Ron Goldman walked to work, worked out, and practiced karate; his hands showed bruises from punching someone in the face or head more than once. OJ had no scratches or bruises on his hands, arms, face, or body: he could not have been a lone murderer.
The newspapers said that when the bodies were found after 12:15 AM their red blood was trickling down the sidewalk. The crime scene pictures printed in the National Enquirer showed the red blood. This says they were freshly killed, around 11:30, because their blood would be black and clotted if dead for over an hour (as in the Borden Murders).
The above physical evidence proves OJ Simpson to be innocent of these murders. Some say the 25 to 30 stab wounds on Ron Goldman suggest an emotional frenzy from a personal enemy, and Nicole Brown was the innocent bystander. The book "Killing Time" is the first and only objective book (arguments for both sides) to discuss all the evidence.
I hope that those who want to know the facts will read this, and reconsider any prejudgments that they made in June 1994.

this is a great book offering new insight into theoj case.......1999-06-09
I used this book to portray argue oj as a good person and to alter the image the media has of him in one of my english classes it was a great resource
Pathetic! Legalese that makes Alan D. sound like a fool........1997-07-20
The book is a bore. A Harvard law professor attemptsto rationalize how OJ couldn't be convicted of killing his wife and a third party. Alan attemptsto find a way reasonable doubts exist according tohis twisted view of the facts. After this case peoplehave stopped listening to his fictional ideas

Book Description
How has China approached the global economy? Webber, Wang and Zhu attempt to answer this question through analysis of the concepts of globalization, transition and regionalization. China's approach has been experimental, stressing the liberalization of trade and investment flows and the development of a market economy. By these indexes globalization in China has been gradual and uneven. Integrating Western social science and Chinese research, this book assesses the nature and effect of globalization in China and its implications.
Book Description
The reintegration of the Chinese economy into the world economy, culminating in the recent accession of China into the WTO has been one of the most significant global events in recent decades. This work examines the political and economic geography of China since the reform process started in the late 1970s.

Get the Most Out of Sales Meetings : Here's How (Here's How).......2000-11-07
I did not think this book touched on the topics I was interested in. I was looking for a book that focused on planning and executing a "Sales Meeting"; more of a meeting planner book. The book is valuable for a Sales Person, it covers different ways of handling sales calls, more than Sales Meetings.

Where is the Love? - It's In This Book.......2005-04-13
Meeting Ms. Love will have you sold on anything she could write. She is a beautiful, smart, and funny; not to mention a classy woman. Her book is factually correct - it's relevant and plays a valuable role in financial planning. Many books are written from the stand point of expert to desperate reader. This book take is from a person facing financial challenges to finding the answers to relieve their stress. EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THIS BOOK. It's original, accurate, and significant. Ms. Love has appeared as the guest of attorneys and lectured alongside a US Federal Bankruptcy Court Judge. They all praised her book (as anyone who has followed her career knows).
When you're looking to find something wrong you will. Clearly you didn't read your review because it's redundant "she self-published herself" and grammatically incorrect, so who are you to criticize. I think this has more to do with gorilla behavior that speaks about on her web site than with the book. Further proving her point about low lives.
You can trust that this author is genuine and the book is great! Well done Tiffany and don't allow these gorilla's to deter you from helping readers who need this information. Fight them back!
This Book Prepares You For Financial Reality.......2005-04-12
THIS BOOK IS OUTSTANDING. You would have to be a board angry lawyer not to like this book. There are plenty of errors in every book you read - if you truly read. What she does is provide the raw facts on what happens during a bankruptcy proceeding. If you read closely the forms she filed in bankruptcy court you see the name of her previous attorney (luckily she lives in the state of California). IT'S THE RAW FACTS. I took control of my bankruptcy case after my lawyer kept charging, charging, charging, and charging. He had a lot of errors too, one that I had the money in bankruptcy to pay him over $4,000 above his base fee. I also purchased this book after reading reviews and meeting this author, who told me exactly what I needed to do and she was absolutely right. She told me how they charge people in bankruptcy, how creditors will try to take your property and how to stop it. This book is a great deal for anyone who has dealt with lawyers who rip people off in order to keep a job. Anyone looking to seriously represent themselves MUST HAVE THIS BOOK.
Gorilla Law isn't Guerilla Law.......2005-03-25
After reading another customer review of this book I was so impressed that I ordered it with next day delivery. It sounded like exactly the kind of book I've been looking for. But I made the mistake of not reading an excerpt first and wound up wasting almost forty dollars.
This book is published by the author herself, which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing except for the fact that the text is riddled with elliptical and grammatical errors. Nearly every paragraph has at least one error in it. The printing quality is poor and fuzzy, looking as though it were taken from a bubble jet master copy. The listing of Federal court addresses goes for several pages and is broken into two columns. But apparently the page breaks were set up incorrectly because the listings go down column one all the way to the end of the section and then go to column two at the beginning of the same section.
I could have lived with even these errors since they're just copy editing mistakes, but then I noticed other errors that made me wonder why this woman ever thought she could write any kind of book at all, let alone a technical book on a subject concerning the reader's personal finances. For example, when writing about filing for bankruptcy without a lawyer, the author uses the term Gorilla Law. I think she may have meant Guerilla Law...
Would you take legal advice from a person who wrote like this? I hope not. The lesson I took is that I should never buy a book based solely on customer reviews. If I had taken the time to read an excerpt, I would have avoided a lot of frustration and wasted money.
Must Have For Stopping Foreclosure.......2004-11-30
There are three great books on the market today and I say don't shop around any more. The two best bankruptcy books on the market have been written by women. I purchased Peggy Palm's book first and found it very informative and insightful. I'm attempting to the stop foreclosure of my home. I then purchased Tiffany Love's book, surviving financial disasters, to get the bankruptcy forms on CD Rom and then learned that she too filed for bankruptcy and included her legal pleadings. If you want to stop foreclosure, get Ms. Love's book for sure as it is "hands on", but I find myself frequently referring back to the information in Peggy's to gain an additional perceptive. Money Troubles is another great book that provides wonderful information and exceeds the scope of Peggy's book, because it covers everything inside and out of bankruptcy, like Tiffany's book. Which some people I think may find too technical, but if you're doing battle like I am with creditors the information is right on target. All three will cost you less than $100 far less than an attorney's consultation fee. My verdict: Peggy's book for the legal advice, Tiffany's book for insight and roadmap, Money Trouble for everything else even after bankruptcy. The others are crap!
Every Home Should Have This Book.......2004-11-07
My story is interesting as to how I came about this book. First, this book has more information inside than what the title suggests. You will get your moneies worth and more out of this book. From buying/selling property to reducing mortgage payments to how to stop credit card companies and lenders in their tracks. I saw the author on election day in New York. Although I attended another lecture, I had the opportunity to meet her during the break. She is absolutely lovely and charming. What a perfect name Love. A young woman with no money and in financial straits begged the organizers to for Surviving Financial Disasters. Once they made financial arrangements Ms. Love walked over to the young woman, handed her a copy of the book and signed it. The young lady jumped up and down. She literally cried. I was so impressed that I purchased a copy of this book and WOW! This young woman is certainly taking over our hearts and the world.

A Good First Book.......2002-02-07
First of all the author and publisher could have done a better job in checking the book for typographical errors. That being said, on to the book.
The information contained is very useful and basic. I like all the website listings and telephone numbers. The book is not complicated to read in one sitting (15 - 20 minutes). You will gain a lot of information if you are just beginning to explore this subject. I wished that the author had expounded more on research information like liens and other encumbrances and how these can potentially affect the bidder.
I originally borrowed this book from the library. But since I thought it was a good reference, I decided to buy it. It is always good to go over sections of the book from time to time.
A start in real estate investing w/o the expense.......2001-06-11
I have read alot of books about real estate and had to read between the lines to get to the real information. This book although small gets to the information without the hype that fills up so many books. I would recommend this book to everyone beacause of the rich information that it contains and for the money it's cheap compared to the other real estate books that are filled with nonsense.

Vague.......2000-08-24
I was expecting more information than this book offered. It did contain some basic generic information, but bottom line was go and find out how to take advantage of foreclosures in your area by yourself. The entire book took an hour to read.
Good info, but very little of it........2000-06-10
This book is only 92 pages long, and it has only few sentences per page. It really is no more than an informative, but skimpy brochure, and it takes about 10 to 15 minutes (tops) to read. Basicaly, the only information included is a very general definition of the types of foreclosure auctions you are likely to come across, and a list of addresses and web pages of institutions which might have forclosures available for sale. It is a great starting point, but don't expect any tips, tricks or advice, nor any information beyond the barest of minimum. It would be an OK place to start for someone who has no prior information whatsoever about forclosures, but I feel that the price of the book doesn't reflect the amount of info you get. Buy this book only if you can't find anything else.
