Book Description
This book presents pioneering work on an interregional input-output table of the Chinese economy and its applications to the analysis of interregional and interindustrial relations in China. It is the fruit of the authors' joint efforts of more than five years to establish a solid basis for the analysis of interregional relations in China, in the hope of laying the foundation for further studies of regional development in that country.
The book endeavors to make a contribution to the regional typology of the Chinese economy. The Chinese provinces are classified into seven large regions. The interregional input-output table is constructed accordingly.
Chapter I describes the methodology for producing this interregional input-output (IRIO) table. Chapter II presents the (IRIO) table after a brief explanation of the Chinese statistical data needed for the compilation of the table. Chapter III explains the basis of seven large regions adopted for the IRIO table. Chapter IV deals with the interdependence of regions and the effects of the changes in some parameters of one region on the activities in other regions. Chapter V, the last chapter, applies the IRIO table to policy analysis.

I picked this up after finishng Dr. Jetmore's Police Seargent Exam Prep Guide. Jetmore is a 20-year law enforcement veteran and former Police Commander. The focus of this book is on ethics as it relates to personal and professional development. This book ancient "codes of honor" and recounts stories of actions that police office took in their daily duties and the related values conflicts, psychological and physical stresses. It is a challenging read, but it raises interesting questions.

I couldn't put this one down. I've been looking for something that addresses the things I've been trying to deal with on the job, and this book nailed it!
It doesn't give you all the answers, just the right encouragement to keep looking.
I would say this one's a must for anyone in law enforcement or any stressful field.

I've read several books on the subject of police ethics. Jetmore's is by far the best. A wonderful combination of research and actual stories from the streets, this books captured my interst from te very beginning. Very insightful.

Dr. Jetmore challenges all who read this work to "take control of their destiny," and seek professional and private development. He even speaks the previously "unspeakable" inner sould reactions to years of affiliation with traumatic events.
I suspect many in law enforcement will disagree with Dr. Jetmore. All the reason those that are tasked with protecting us need to read and review his work.

this book is thought provoking in that it challenges us to question notions of reality disseminated to us by experts and media organizations. What guides analytical perceptions about the world and the people in it, is a topic that is attempted-I believe successfully- in Edwin Wilmsen's Book: Land Filled With Flies. History is crucial in the development and presentation of realities of existences and Wilmsen uncovers these factors of construction. The identity, under "construction" is the "Bushmen" of the Kalahari. If you like to dismantle structures of power and strip bare pre-conceived notions of perception, then you will like this book. I got all this just from reading the first and last chapter. Even the intro was sizzling. If you like biting remarks and criticisms, he pleases by exposing his anthropological colleagues as accomplices in the shaping of a destructive categorization of a disadvantaged people, the "fictitious Bushmen"

The CE Marking Handbook offers a loving philosophical defense of the European Community's (EC's) ideas on product safety, but little in the way of practical resources needed by people who have to sell products in the EC which comply with the appropriate safety standards. After several hours of reading, I had gleaned virtually no useful information, and was ready to send the book to the circular file. The book's organization is obscure and confusing, and the prose more like a novel than a handbook; a difficult and confusing read. The book has a glaring lack of the SPECIFIC, DETAILED, product requirements for the EC (not a single safety standard, nor even a summary of a standard, is printed in the book, as far as I can tell) and a mountain of non-sense about the differences between US and EC safety values. WHO CARES?! Readers who would consider buying this book need help, not moralizing lectures on safety philosophy. Don't waste your time and money, buy something else. I am going to have to.
