To gain the economic security is not just keep one nation¡¦s scale or the firms as the big as possible. This book told us that biggest are not the key element for the economic dimensions of international system. To build up a related-capability is more important for global power like U.S.

One purpose for the authors is to emphasis the importance of economic instruments for national security in the post-cold era, which had been seen as ¡§low level politics¡¨ before!

It would be better to emphasis the ¡§Economic Security¡¨ in the title of this book, not just use the term like ¡§The Economic Dimension of National Security¡¨!

Growing uncertainties in the world energy market continue to impact nearly every facet of the Saudi economy. Saudi Arabia faces ongoing demographic problems, as well as a need to diversify and restructure its economy. The Kingdom must find a way to adapt its traditional culture, religious customs, education, and political structure to the needs of a modern nation. Such change will come neither quickly nor easily. And with King Fahd's health in question and Crown Prince Abdullah already in his mid-seventies, major questions remain as to how the regime's future will ultimately affect the delicate balance in the entire region.

What a fantastic book. Even though many of the ideas are so simple we often forget about them. One of these simple ideas I applied to my business and I ended up saving myself just over $10,000 and all it took was three hours, a few telephone calls and a couple of short meetings. I'm busy working my way through all the other ideas - I've even given some of my staff certain chapters to read and see how they can apply it to our business.

I thought this book would be helpful for either offering tips on certain tasks (e.g., searching for bugs, defensive driving). There is absolutely no substance! Topics are covered at a very high level, and too much space is given to mildly pertinent anecdotes. The grammer could also use a once-over. Finally, the book is way too brief.

Keep searching - there are better books on this subject.

... This book is the first piece of training I assign to my new employees, all of which are cops. The cons of hiring aggressive warriors (cops) are offset as this book clearly explains the new concept that capture of the enemy is NOT the goal, but rather, the invisible protection of the client. It's not about cheating your husband, it's about having a little money that you can call your own. It's about not having to account for every penny you spend. It's about what you deserve. Been married 40+ years and wish I read this book long ago. Last week I took my daughter, daughter-in-law and all my grandchildren out for breakfast with MY money. It really felt great!

The book is quick easy to read, with interesting anecdotes to illustrate the points presented. There are more anecdotes than nuts and bolts advice, but overall I think it is a wonderful book. I sincerely wish I had read this book before I got married, it would have helped me immensely. I imagine we would be buying our dream home now if I had had this wake up call back then. Every young woman should read this before she starts out on her own, whether she plans to marry or not. The book is not "anti-man", but rather pro-woman in the sense that women traditionally are not taught to protect themselves financially and this book helps women realize the emotional and practical consequences of not protecting their monetary power within their lives and within any relationship - and how to build their monetary power from any point they are in their lives.
Judge Judy's intro is great.
I found it at the library, and decided I had to buy it and lend it out to friends.

Here is an idea... write a book on how to shoplift "little things" from retail establishments who probably would not miss them, put in a few handy recipies or other "useful information", and title it... "How to get away with petty theft... and other Time Honored way to build a high fashion wardrobe on a budget".

Why is it more acceptable to steal from a person with whom you are supposed to share your greatest trust... your spouse, than to steal from an impersonal retail establishment?

Look at the words... Time Honored Tradition. As if women have been engaging in petty (or not so petty) theft from their spouses for "generations" making it a "tradition" and therefore acceptable.

Theft is taking that which is not yours. Betrayal is breaking trust granted in good faith. This book encourages women to engage in theft and betrayal, and then rationalize the behaviour by calling it a "time honored tradition".

This book gives ammo to misogynists. It can not possibly be a good thing for women. Read it, just to see how morally vapid we can be.
