        How will the private sector react to different governmental policies? What policies will produce the most desirable outcomes? These two volumes bring together major contributions to a new theory of macroeconomic policy that analyzes which policies are credible or politically feasible, topics that are central to the practical policy debate but that traditional theory cannot address.

        Instead of looking at policy as an end product, the contributors approach policy as an ongoing process of revised goals, changes in tactics, and political pressures. They consider what kinds of incentives, within different institutional settings, drive policymaking and the behavior of policymakers. This approach allows more informed answers to questions of which policies are credible and which are politically feasible. It explains why certain monetary and fiscal policies get implemented, and provides insights into situations that occur repeatedly in macroeconomic policy such as the bias toward government deficits, partisan competition, and central bank independence.

        Volume 1 examines problems of policy credibility caused by incentives to deviate from announced policy. Volume 2 looks at feasibility problems caused by political pressures generated by the electoral process, the politics of the public debt, issues of the redistribution of wealth, and conflict over the need for economic reforms. Sections are arranged so that the first chapter introduces a topic while those that follow expand on it. The editors provide substantial introductions to each volume as well as short comments at the beginning of each section within the volumes.

        Sorry, but i was disappointed. this book is just a cut-and-paste from all these firm's websites and recruiting brochures. There's nothing new here. I though other guides like the VaultReports guide on Consulting was a much better insider's look at the top consulting firms.

              This is an excellent book, and provides an easy to read format with questions listed in bold throughout the book. There is no "quick reference" sheet of questions, though there is an appendix which lists questions in the back of the book (on p. 169).

              The author seems to be from a sales background, and lists many questions more suitable for sales. In particular, some of the questions seem to be quite bold and forward; you may want to skip some of these. To his credit, these questions are clearly marked.

              The book breaks questions down into three general areas: questions to ask yourself (before the interview), questions to ask a prescreener (an HR person), and questions to ask the hiring manager. Most of the book is spent on the latter two.

              This book also describes how to do research on a company - so you know what questions to ask. Resources are described in detail, and how to get them.

              Career development expert Ron Fry focuses on how to prepare for a job interview and how to conduct yourself during the interview. While he covers some of the same ground he's covered in some of his other books and as well as the territory in other career books, such as What Color Is Your Parachute, Fry focuses helpfully on a critical job-finding skill - asking the right questions during your job interview. He tells you how to respond when the interviewer asks you, "Do you have any questions?", because your response indicates your level of interest in the job. Besides listing questions to ask or to modify to meet your own circumstances, Fry provides helpful preparatory questions you should ask yourself to clarify what kind of job you really want. We recommend this book to job seekers at the middle or lower management level. By the time you get to the executive suite, you'll know what else to ask.

              This book does a great job of helping you ask the questions that will get you a job. As a training manager, who trains managers and executives on how to interview, I feel I am qualified to say this book works.

              I know we look for people who can ask the right question. This book is a wonderful resource once you get the interview. This leaves us with the question, "How do you get an interview?" Simple, know the type of job you want and pursue it, if you do not know what type of job you want you may want to read the classic, "How to find your dream job and make it a reality." By Jason McClure.

              "I was so impressed with Wealthy and Wise that I suggested my 19-year old daughter read it. What better introduction to life's responsibilities and the utility of money? My wife heard our discussions and we put Mr. Rosenberg's ideas to work. Recently diagnosed and successfully treated for cancer, she was amazed at the current anti-nausea drugs. However such drugs are expensive and can put a real drain on a less fortunate family. My wife's oncologist thought that funds to assist in such situations were really needed. Our brand new family foundation wrote that check recently and we feel great! I thank Claude Rosenberg for such a wonderful book."

Newtithing means determining affordable charitable contributions based on annual surplus income and the market value of investment assets after debt.                   When you hire a corporate biographer, the result should be thorough, imbued with inside knowledge and, perhaps, a bit flattering. And so is this book, which was commissioned by Corning in conjunction with the firm's sesquicentennial celebration. As the title suggests, the focus of the book is on the innovational nature of the company and how Corning has capitalized on its creativity through flexible strategic responses to changing market demands. Although the corporate origins of the book cast doubts on its objectivity, we from getAbstract recommend Corning and the Craft of Innovation as an interesting case study in the management of a company that lives and dies with innovation.

                  A very exhaustive book, no doubt. In the extent of the material covered and in the feelings it generates. An early reference to innovation as a non-linear phenomenon does not apply to the book where a rigid timeline approach is applied throughtout. Few general conclusions are drawn so this one is strictly for those interested in extensive details of Corning's history. A few nuggest here and there that may apply to established technology companies focusing today on development over research.

                        This book not only covers the basics of branding but goes beyond the fundamentals to look at where branding is going in the future. It's filled with many interesting examples and looks at branding and business from many different perspectives. If you want to learn both the fundamentals and then more this book is for you.

                        This has got to be one of the finest tutorials - primers - that exists to fundamentally guide one through the process of developing, building, and maintaining a brand. You can find it all in one place from a world-class expert in the business of brand husbandry. If you or your company's future depends on establishing a positive, powerful image for your customers, this is the book for you. It will give you a much broader perspective of brands.

                        I was one of the reviewers of this book, so note that I may be biased. Branding requires consistent definitions, frameworks, research, and disciplined processeses, but still creativity, intuition, emotional and right brain holistic skills are absolutely essential to brand success. As a matter of fact they are the more significant and more scarce resources in creating and sustaining brands. Kevin is a master of branding, and in this book he vividly and eloquently explains branding with a rich and diversified set of examples, personal and professional experiences, and many insightful observations. While other excellent books provide frameworks on how to build brands, this book fills-in the blocks and ties them all together very nicely into a coherent model. This is an excellent introduction for any executive that needs a solid understanding of branding in order to make decisions about branding or how to best leverage and comply with an existing organization's brand. From my perspective, a must read!
