Disappointed!!!.......2004-09-26

Do not buy this book unless you are totally clueless about even how to turn a computer on. It wasn't what I thought it would be. Many of the web sites listed are no longer on the web and it is outdated. Most of the stuff in here you probably already know if you have spent any time on the internet. I could have written this book and done a better job. There is no real knowledge to gain from this book unless you have been living in a cave and you don't know what a computer is.

Should rename the title: "About computers and the Internet".......1999-10-31

I found this book very disappointing, and the title is misleading. I thought I was going to learn all about collecting online and finding, buying and selling collectibles and antiques. Instead, there is detailed blow by blow descriptions about computers, how to choose internet providers, internet language, etc. There are nice pictures of antiques and collectibles, but they don't pertain to the author's discussions, and I felt they were used as fillers and fluff just to get enough pages in the book. This book would be good for the complete novice who has NEVER touched a computer or the Internet.

Great Book for the Basics of Online Auctions and Collecting.......1999-10-10

Advanced users might already know most of what is in this book, but for "newbies" like myself it is wonderful. It gave me the confidence I needed to start using online auctions, and I've found some nice Christmas gifts at good prices.

Good idea, but not enough went into it........1999-09-17

I got the impression that the idea for this book came together too fast and it went out on the market not well researched enough. Instead of all the technical information, tell me where to go on the web to find collectibles. When I saw the title I had high hopes but it told me what I already know. The pictures were nice but low-quality resolution and really didn't add much to collecting online. Too costly for what it offers.

Great Resume Book.......2005-10-07

I had been searching for a new job and wanting to move out to California to be closer to my family but I wasnt getting any sort of responses from the resumes I sent out, not even rejection letters. I got this book and read through it, followed the advice on the resumes and the cover letters, and had someone I know that has a business look over my resume and tell me what he thought. He told it me it was an outstanding resume and that he had a position opening at his company in March 2006 but he was almost 100% with a resume like that I would have a job before then. I also posted my resume on an online job finder. I applied for jobs in California even though I am 2,000 miles away and for the first time in almost 3 years I least I got rejection letters and also I got an employer wanting an interview even though I was obviously not in California. This book really works! Get it and at least try it out, what have you got to lose a few bucks. I couldn't believe some of the salaries of jobs I was being considered for.

These people encompass a vast range of occupations from healthcare, paralegals, military, sales & marketing - and a host of others.

The book is well laid out and provides extensive, easy to read information for the person embarking upon the difficult task of putting pen to paper. It touches upon writing tips, job search strategies, grammar, spelling, design and layouts. "The Gallery" ventures into Part 2 of the book. Resume samples produced for "real life" people by leading professional resume writers, are grouped in categories. At the end of each resume, notes regarding style, margins, font use and reasons behind the layout and wording selection are provided.

This book is a total waste of money. I found nothing of value in this book. It is thick because it contains copies of various forms for each state so you can use them as guides in making your own POA. Best to spend 100 bucks and get a lawyer!

This self-help book allows the reader to understand in layman terms certain powers and provisions needed for wills, proxies, etc without the need for an attorney. The forms in the back are easy to understand and can be copied which is beneficial to the user. The forms are also humorous in nature as well. This is to long to make short but will try. my sister had a stroke her son got a P of A so he said we don't know. He has sold her house and everything in it. Is this what the P of A is for to make it right for him to do this ? she now lives with him and has NOTHING.
