The Handbook is an essential companion for a graduate student in the field of economic theory. Although both young researchers, graduate students and experts in various economic fields will find it useful, it's really indispensable for anyone who is professionally interested in the field of Industrial Organization.

It's a professional guide to the extensive literature on noncompetitive markets, both theoretical (Volume I) and empirical (Volume II). It's not a textbook, although may be used in advanced microeconomics and IO courses as a companion. It was published in 1989 and a lot changed since then. Highly recommended.

I bought this book as a requisite for a class (like a textbook), and I'm not the only one who thinks that the book is not helpful to understand any subject, just to know what the "recent" (not so recent, since the studies they use are pretty old) contrversies and points of view are. It might be good for professional in IO, but not at all for srudents, not even for graduates students (like we are).

I found the material valuable in helping me convey technical concepts to non-technical personnel. Part of my responsibility is to ensure all parties correctly understand the "why" as much as the "what" and "how" of an e-business project. The primary benefit I got was being able to see what the strategists are looking for in an e-business solution and how to present it in their terms. This book has also helped me address those who would chase "technology du jour" solutions that may be flashy but offer little or no real value other than to pad a resume.

Some of the ideas presented have provided a good starting point for team discussions and follow-on research projects. Also, the material has helped me develop an informal education program to help some mainframe structure programming folks make the transition to an e-business development environment.

At times, some of the material seemed a little jolty but overall I would recommend this to anyone with the desire to get a high-level overview without marketing hype. One reviewer pointed out that you cannot develop a complete solution, or even a detailed project plan, with this book alone. I would agree. However, used as an introduction and an accompanying text for more detailed technical books, "Developing E-Business Systems and Architectures" definitely adds value to my library.

What a collosal waste of time this book is.
The authors obviously don't have much of a grasp on e-business. The book is poorly organized and written in such poor style that it was a torture to finish.

I've always been impressed with this publishers technical and computer books but this book was pretty dreadful. A mishmash of material cobbled together with gum and tape - there are other books that deal with this subject -pick one of those.

The book is one of the better guides to writing good resumes. Good examples are provided. But Jackson and company are also pulling a sales scam. Try to download the free templates and you'll find they never arrive in your inbox. A "DO IT NOW" TREASURE!.......2004-08-08

This is one of my favorite books on developing what some call a "prosperity consciousness". It truly has valuable exercises that help you identify your own personal blocks to prosperity. I favor books that offer experience as well as theory. The book is now out of print but I would advise anyone to get this book. My favorite thought from the book is that we don't have to choose "this or that" we can choose "this AND that".

I was amazed to find this book pointed out beliefs accepted so early in life that I wasn't even aware they were beliefs. It was enlightening and freeing. What I expected to be a quick read turned out to be an absorbing, and fun filled exploration of myself.
