Smart card application development using Java.......2006-10-30

I bought this book looking for a deeper reference regarding Javacard applets, native code in smartcards and so on. Neverthless I found the book very useful in the off-card stuff, because it explains in a very clear way how to access the terminal, send APDU's, etc., always using the Open Card Framework which is very important for us Java developers. I strongly recommend this if you are developing applications in Java that must access smartcards, but if you're developing also the on-card software, let's say the Javacard applets, then you must also get the book from Zhiqun Chen also available in amazon.

This is the only book that explains the OCF in details..........2000-02-27

As a person who is concerning in developing javacards via OCF, found this one very useful due to contents that it has on framework. You could get and develop off-card apps, if it does make sense to you..

Too heavy based on OCF.......2000-02-12

The important thing that I notice is that the book is too heavily based on the Open Card framework. I needed instead a book on java card first. Only found some tutorials on the net until now.

Lacking more than it has.......2003-10-14

I read close to 100 books a year, but this is my first Amazon review. I was tempted to give it a 1-star to help balance off the 5-stars he is getting from friends. Mega Warheads...candies his son sells at elementary school, coffee stands...another son in high school, off-shore islands...his advice is to buy a current book that outlines which places are good (that is what I thought I was doing when I bought a book with a sub-title How to Make and Protect Your Money, I was mistaken) There are a few tidbits of good information, but the best thing I learned is that if this author can make a living selling this advice, making money really isn't as hard as some would make it out to be. One more thing, I am not American so I am neither Republican or Democrat, but unless you think George W. Bush is a great leader and his wisdom is going to straigten out all that mess made by the Clinton years, I'd advise you to choose another book.

The concepts and their application set forth in this useful book are not taught in schools. Anyone who is either involved in small business, or who is considering such a step would do well to invest in their own copy of Mega Warheads, which contains the crystallization of Kramar's many years of work with small business as a management consultant. You will not be disappointed.

The Primer of Entrepreneurship!!.......2003-07-18

This book is the beginning facts and principles of entrepreneurship. Before you read Built to Last, or the E-Myth, you need to start with this book. Jaroslav keeps it straight forward, practical and factual. This is the book I wish I had before I started my company 22 years ago. It would have saved me lots of pain and it would have encourged me to do it years earlier. My plan is to use this book as a primer to teach my children how to start their own business or how they can a better business manager.

Easy to read, hard to put down!!!!!.......2003-07-17

As I read this book, I relived many of the "nightmare" issues that we dealt with over the years while building our company. I had trouble putting the book down because every additional page and chapter seemed to address business obstacles that we struggled with to overcome. We could have saved much blood sweat and tears had we been guided by the "bottled up" wisdom and truths found in this book.
