For Floridians, this is a terrific resource for probate of an estate. Simple, straightforward and concise, it gets you where you need to be quickly, and is an instructive primer to review before retaining a probate attorney.

Some of the data my be 4-5 years out of date and the legal forms provided my not be county specific. Still, the book provides very useful information by an experienced Florida attorney, in a clear and well organized fashion.

Good info but accuracy of forms questionable.......2006-08-26
Overall, the guide was informative, but don't use the forms without additional research! The author DOES mention that the forms may not be correct for your particular county. They weren't. Headers, and signature blocks were incorrect for my county (Brevard). I found other examples of the correct documents online and adjusted accordingly. Simple items, such as providing the court with a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of judgements, seems like info that should have been in the book.

Good advice for all Floridians.......2002-06-28
This is a very good resource for helping to understand the estate administration process in Florida. Although Florida requires the hiring of an attorney to administer all but small estates, being knowledgeable in the process can make a difficult process go much smoother. This book also advises those not directly involved in the administration process, which is particularly useful as those persons may not have the direct advice of an attorney. This is a book that should be read by every single Floridian. Although the subject matter is not fun, it will effect every Floridian at least once in their lives and ignorance in this area can lead to some very costly lessons for both yourself and your loved ones.
You should be aware that since this book's publication, Florida has made some significant changes to its probate code. However, these changes do not affect the majority of this book.

This book,excepting 2-3 paragraphs of little value, could be entitled Estate Planning in...West Virginia, South Dakota or any other state. Florida has some unique procedures and ramifications for domiciling which are basic to financial and estate planning, which are conspicuous in this book because of their absence. I had not intended to purchase a generic primer covering various forms and documents known to all mankind. Perhaps my expectations were falsely elevated by those recommending it.

This is the best book yet I have read about estate planning in Florida. Very clear and thorough explanations.

The Book-Cadillac Hotel and the Statler Hilton are two of the most magnificant buildings in Detroit, with it's amazing collection of 1910s and 1920s architecture. DK's excellent book describes in great detail the history of these two landmarks, and updates us on their current sad conditions with brilliant photography. I cannot say enough about the B-C, please check out ... after reading this book, and join the Friends of the Book Cadillac, to assure that the proposed Marriott-led rennovations occur so we can enjoy that landmark for years to come.

What a stimluating walk through time. David George Kohramn visits the history, past and present, of the Detroit Statler and Book Cadillac Hotels. The book is jammed with rare photos I have never seen. His deep research is evident in his concise, but detailed writing. This is a must have for any history buff and individual concerned with the preservation of our past. Thank you David, for an exciting adventure!
