        Book Description

Obtain the funding needed to develop, produce, market and sell high-tech products. Funding High-Tech Ventures will show you an insider's strategies on how to find, prepare for, and win over investors. Now is the ideal time to pursue a high-tech business idea, although the industry competition can by grueling. You need to compose a business plan that will place you above your competitors and on the priority lists of potential investors.

While most business planning books provide you with information to build a cookie-cutter, MBA-style business plan, Funding High-Tech Ventures explains how to tailor your strategy to produce an in-depth, meaningful business plan. You will learn compelling techniques of producing content and presenting your business plan through a step-by-step approach outlined in Funding High-Tech Ventures. Examples of legal proposal documents, a sample business plan, and worksheets will guide you as you formulate a winning plan.

The author correctly points out that traditional investors normally avoid new technology products and services as being too risky for funding. Funding High-Tech Ventures shows entrepreneurs, particularly those who have been rejected by ultra-conservative banks and venture capitalists, who to present their plans to and exactly how to do it. Throw out the canned business plan approach and get quality funding for your enterprise. Funding is available and anyone can obtain it - Funding High-Tech Ventures shows entrepreneurs and company principals how.

        Customer Reviews:

        1 out of 5 stars Don't buy this book!!.......1998-11-10

The authors don't know anything about funding new ventures. The sample businessplan that is included should never get any funding from somebody that's not a complete idiot. After I bought this book I will never buy a book that doesn't have a customer commet.

        1 out of 5 stars A lot of blank pages & white spaces for a vacuum-filled book.......1998-02-16

By reading the hard-cover, you should think (as I have thought !), this book would transform you in an investor-catching guy. Too bad... Definitly, there is NOTHING in this book, excepted perhaps some money-funding system (the book...)for the authors ! Please, trust me : don't buy ! You'll save your bucks.

The CD-ROM enhances the impact of the workshops as users complete a variety of exercises on the computer and use the Internet for further research.

                                5 out of 5 stars A bargain for such a useful tool.......2007-06-09

For the price you'll pay for this book you can hardly afford not to have it by your side when writing, editing or proofreading. I use it for all three of the aforementioned tasks. While your computer may be constantly connected to the internet, sometimes it's just easier to pick up an actual reference book and find the answer you need.

In the case of this little reference book (just the size of a paperback novel) you'll discover it's easy to lookup your question in the index and then quickly find the information you need. They layout and font face that was used makes this guide read almost like a dictionary. In other words, it is designed for reading short sections and presents the grammar rules in a lean format that is perfect.

This book shares space on my desk with my Oxford Dictionary of Current English:

                                Oxford Dictionary of Current English

And also my beloved copy of the 11th Merriam-Webster's Collegiate dictionary:

                                The Merriam-Webster Dictionary

And as noted above... for the price you'll pay, the Merriam-Webster's guide is more than good value for your money.

4 out of 5 stars arm floaties not a life raft.......2007-05-18

The guide is helpful for basic grammer needs. Essentially, it will help you stay afloat if you have the periodic question or need a refresher, but it wont save you if you are completely lost in terms of grammer rules. It doesn't offer enough examples to fully explain the grammar rules, and sometimes is ambiguious (i.e usually you do "x", but it is also okay to "y" or "z").

4 out of 5 stars Tightly packed like a book on commas and semicolons and more should be!.......2006-07-21

The complexity of the subject(s) makes for a bit of confusion, but it is all in here. My copy is already dog-eared after only a couple of days in my possession and pretty constant use. It is much easier to use than the huge volumes of similar advice that once stood on their own tables at the local library. Already I have bookmarks throughout it.

                                5 out of 5 stars Excellent.......2005-08-18

This is an excellent book for those who are seeking a quick and efficient guide to punctuation.

3 out of 5 stars all you need.......2002-07-30

This guide is not cute, sexy or fun. However, it has all the style and grammar guide you need. It doesn't try to amuse so its free to give you the rules and useful examples of them in practice. The price is excellent as well. I keep one copy next to me whenever I write.

                                    Book Description

Managing for sustainable development has become increasingly accepted worldwide by corporate, public, and non-profit organizations as vital to the continued existence and development of both these organizations and their natural and social environments. This collection of original papers provides various perspectives on sustainable management practices, particularly as practiced by large corporations. The ten studies in this volume represent the latest theoretical and empirical research in the field of organizations and the natural environment.

The contributors present a range of unique perspectives on issues including: the impact of globalization on sustainability, cross-cultural comparisons of the impact of institutional contexts on environmental practices of Japanese and Chinese firms, comparisons of voluntary environmental initiatives undertaken by public and private sector organizations, processes of organizational change in response to stakeholder pressures, the transfer of environmental capabilities during mergers and acquisitions, why some companies keep the environmentally friendly features of their products secret, and the influence of emissions and health-impacts information on attitudes toward the environment. This volume opens and closes with two essays that comprehensively review the state of research in organizations and the natural environment and suggest directions for future researchers.

This insightful book presents studies from a wide range of disciplinary perspectives: Human Resources Management, Strategy, Operations Management, Accounting, International Business, Marketing, and Development. It represents the latest state of knowledge in organizations and the natural environment and provides interesting perspectives for academics, environmental consultants as well as environmental managers from business, the public sector, NGOs, international development institutions, and government.
