I came across this book in one of my many sessions of surfing for books on Amazon. This book is worth more then 5 stars! It is an easy read and the ladies give you so much information in a simple format. If you have any spiritual leanings and know anything about the law of attraction I suggest getting this book in conjunction with "Attracting Perfect Customers." This second book helps you really flesh out a mission/vision statement for your business and is also written by women.

Don't let the title deceive you because it really should have been called "Entrepreneurship for Dummies." It explains everything you need to know about launching a company but didn't even know to ask. A must read before you start writing your business plan.

A Must Read for Women Business Owners.......2004-08-20

Don't be fooled by the title of this book. This is not another "networking" book or a simple "how to start a small business" book. It is also not a feminist propaganda disguised within a business development manual. If you are serious about starting, expanding, or reinventing your business consider reading this book. If you are a woman, definitely read this book!

From page one, the angels (read the book to understand why I refer to them as angels) who wrote this book make some basic assumptions: the reader is interested in paving a way in the business world, the reader has the drive to make their dreams come true, and the reader has passion, vision, a pioneering spirit, and the tenacity to make it happen.

But be prepared for lots of hard work. This isn't a read me and set me on the bookshelf type of book. The toolkit provided in the appendix (58 pages) includes checklists, to dos, and touch questions that need to be addressed. The Digging Deeper sections in each chapter provide expanded definitions of important concepts and the Summaries at the end of each chapter provide an easy way to review the important points.

Thanks to all that made this book a reality! It has a permanent place on my desk as I move my business to the next step and is already highlighted and dog-eared.

This book is jam packed with advice on every page. Excellent book on e-payment systems.......2000-05-18

This title contains excellent explanation on protocols of various types of electronic payment systems. The contents are not limited to well-known protocols such as SSL and SET (even these are explained clearly)-- the authors succeeded in writing on almost all payment systems from today's systems of banks and EDI to cryptographic protocols including micropayment (NetBill, Millicent, Mondex, etc.) and some digital moneys. Also mechanisms of integrated circuit cards are included. Most protocols are clearly described with many charts. If you want to be familiar with electronic payment systems, this book is a must.

Not recommended.

Sad to say, the book looks like an academic textbook of specifications, definitions, glued together with paragraphs and diagrams. I've seen Internet RFCs and STDs far more informative, interesting and useful than this.

If the book is actually recommended reading to use or implement SET, then SET must be the ISDN [1] of e-commerce! ;-)

I came across this book almost by accident and I was surprised by how easy to read and useful it is.
The prices and costs may not be up to date but these can be determined by surfing the net. Well worth the price and the effort.
Like I said, a must - read for anyone headed to Australia for over 3 weeks.

Bear in mind however that this version has not been updated for a few years.

This book features great advice on how to prepare yourself for the big move "Down Under", and what to expect from this new country. I really enjoyed the detailed list of "Aussie Real Estate Jargon" as I will need to refer to it when I will be looking for an apartment in Sydney. There are so many useful and practical information and advice in this book such as tips on how to find a job. This book has given me the confidence to move to Sydney as I feel prepareed and armed with the right information needed to make a good start Down Under. Anyone looking for the latest information about online market research should look elsewhere. I bought this book from amazon, and when I sat down to read it, I was dismayed to see how out-of-date it was. For example, recent advances in online survey research are not covered.

Good general purpose research handbook for online sources........1996-07-11

Many research texts for business and the social sciences discuss secondary research sources. However, most, if not, all texts written in the past few years have had their chapters on this important subject invalidated by the the explosion of resources on the World Wide Web. Online Marketing Research is an excellent book to augment research texts used in academe or outdated research methods used by most businesses. The author also points out though that many of the "paid" resources such as Dialog, Nexis and Lexis, etc. still offer the highest quality information. This book is well worth the modest price.

Within the next decade, 100,000 Chinese class action plaintiffs, organized by New York trial lawyers, could sue General Motors, Toyota, General Electric, Mitsubishi, and a host of other blue-chip corporations in a US federal court for abetting China's denial of political rights, for observing China's restrictions on trade unions, and for impairing the Chinese environment. These plaintiffs might claim actual damages of $6 billion and punitive damages of $20 billion. Similar blockbuster cases are already working their way through federal and state court systems.

How could this nightmare scenario become a reality? Because of a little-known, one sentence law enacted in 1789— the Alien Tort Statute (ATS): "The district courts shall have original jurisdiction of any civil action by an alien for a tort only, committed in violation of the law of nations or a treaty of the United States."

In this analysis, Hufbauer and Mitrokostas examine the chilling impact the ATS could have on trade and foreign direct investment. They trace its history from the original intent to recent court interpretations, including a look at class-action suits over asbestos and apartheid.
