To be fair to the true value of the book, I would like to say that this book is a very useful, concise and all-round assortment of all the pre-existing economic concepts and techniques in their simplest and the most intuition-friendly form.

An undergraduate reader might find it a little challenging, but for a graduate level reader already seasoned in every aspect of economics, this would not only be an easy reading, but a very clear and insightful guide to economic rationale behind the theories they had taken for granted w/o giving its practical application much thought.

The beauty of this book for a graduate student, I think, is not in the treatment of highly advanced and feindishly complicated top of the line economic theories, but in the simple and insightful plain-langauge treatment of all the technical aspects of economics commonly and conventionally practiced in the economics discipline.

The value of this book for an undergraduate student majoring in economics or business may not be immediately evident w/o working hard at it, but rather would probably be appreciated a lot later when they are more comfortable w/ matrix algebra, calculus and econometrics.

Overall I rate this book a rare piece that balances well in the middle of the road between both graduate and undergraduate level audiences.

I am currently using the book for a managerial economics class and find the information confusing . Certainly a review of supply and demand (chapter 3) and its application of middle level managers is crucial and should have been placed before optimizing techniques (chapter 2). The assumption is the student or reader has just finished an introduction economics course and all the information is still fresh in the mind. Personally, I review all principles in this book with basic economic principles for a much clearer understanding of the topics.

In this book, the authors discuss how different areas of society are being transformed by computer technology. Authors have placed particular emphasis on women's experiences as computer scientists, and the mechanisms through which approaches to system design and, system design methodologies contribute to the gendered nature of computing. Still Have Gender Differences.......2004-01-24

Computer science is one of the youngest sciences, with little history. Plus, the use of computers is quite decoupled from physical strength. Given, this, one might imagine that there would be little gender differences in the study and use of computers.

To some extent that is true, and certainly less so than in other more established fields, like engineering, which remain heavily male dominated. But these papers presented here show that, sadly, there are indeed some gender differences. The intake of females into computer science has lagged males. Partly, it reflects the mathematical nature of the subject, which acts as a deterrent to many high school girls. In other ways, computing is seen as a solitary venture, with minimal social interaction, acting as another deterrent.

Overall, the tone across the papers is generally optimistic. Progress is needed to remove discrimination effects. But these are generally not explict or systemic. In large part, mostly attitudinal changes that may require generational changes to resolve.

This book clearly, quickly, and concisely, takes you through how to develop an executive resume and cover letter. It outlines the purpose of various resume elements, and explains why the elements of an executive resume are different than the resume format you learned when you graduated from college.

Well over half of this 300+ page book is sample resumes, and they are really outstanding.

The number of non example pages is extremely small.
I regret buying this book!

The book is very well written and organized, it contains valuable information on job hunting. Yet, I was very disappointed to find out that although the back cover claims to have "special tips for women only", I found NOTHING about it...... such claim is precisely what drove me to buy the book, since I am a woman. Anyway, the excellent examples in this book are absolutely professional, and the overall composition of the book is classy. It really helps job hunters to organize their thoughts and succeed in their job hunting campaign.

I found the book to be very helpful. It is well organized, concise yet insiteful. Very up-to-date with advice on how to get a job in the internet age. The resumes are very effective and offer good examples to craft your own resume from - much more helpful than other books I've read on the subject - most likely due to its targeted nature - sales and marketing resumes. That way I can look at almost any resume and find it helpful instead of wading thru a bunch of general resumes to find one that is applicable.

Exaustive Coverage and Beautiful........2004-12-12

This is a truly supurb book. As it says, it covers the Junkers company from 1913 to 1945. And it covers it completely. It starts with the J1 and goes to the J2, and the J3 and so on through every plane the put into production, and every prototype plane they built, and it appears just about every plane they even thought about. Of course planes like the Ju-52 (the three motored Tante Ju that was basically the C-47 of Germany), the Ju-87 Stuka, and the Ju-88 (in about a dozen versions) are given more pictures, more pages than planes that never got off the drawing board.

In addition, Junkers also built engines (Did any other airframe manufacturer also build engines?), not the least of which were the Jumo 211 used in the ME-109, and the 109 series of turbojets used in the ME-262 and the Arado 234.

This book is exhaustively researched. Where could they have possibly have gotten all these photographs of rare aircraft, including almost every type of plane built, a listing of every known surviving plane, even comments on what happened to the follow on designs of advanced engines that were continued by the French, Czechs, and Soviets.

The book is beautifully printed (in Spain) on coated paper so that the photographs show up very well. This will be the hands down definitive book on the Junkers, probably for all time.
