A beautifully written guide to soul searching.......2007-01-04

I always enjoy reading Whyte's work. Few writers have equaled his command of the English language and his story-telling ability. The book evokes a great deal of empathy as many modern day workers struggle to find personal meanings to work/employment. Whyte provides a personal insight into how one may purposefully stay true to oneself. The reading is relatively lighter than most of his poetic works and is very enjoyable and thought provoking. If one doesn't like the content, he/she will at least enjoy the author's mastery in writing, especially his transitions from one point to another. Whyte is one of the few authors that can weave together difficult concepts with artistic cohesiveness and elegance. Highly recommend it.

Deep Reflections on 9/11.......2006-09-11

David's work has inspired me in very practical ways and it is truly a read for those who yearn for purpose in their lives. My constant discovery of my "firm persuasion" helps me both at work and at home and dealing with the insanity of 9/11. It is easily one of the top 50 books in my business library and I quote from it regularly when I teach managers and leaders!

A must read for any woman! I still return to my 1993 addition of this book for straight-forward informaion on how a woman can handle her own finances. The format is easy to read, with titles, bold print summaries, and questions. Ms. Leonard, whom I've never met, feels like a friend!

No-nonsense, useful advice for women in or near retirement.......2003-07-03

Of the slew of personal finance books for women the past few years, this is the only one that sounds like it was written by a woman who didn't already have a fat, profitable investment portfolio, her dream house, and Prince Charming as her mate. Nearly all of the other books were written by people promoting their financial consulting businesses (until they got too rich to bother with that, like Suze Orman, although she's good, too). Leonard is a lawyer, and the legal counsel for the Older Women's League (OWL), a terrific organization.

Leonard writes in a down-to-earth, no-nonsense, but friendly voice, and gives specific, useful guidance about things most of would never know even to investigate -- much of it about Social Security benefits for widows and divorced women. If you're either of those, worried about becoming one, or just want to be proactive about protecting your own future and security, this book mandatory reading.

It was reissued the year after it came out, but is apparently out of print now. It deserves to be updated and republished.

One of the First "Viral Marketing" Books by One of the Most Preeminent Marketing Minds Around.......2007-06-08

This book is one of the first "Viral Marketing" books that later spread the hot topics of "Viral Marketing", "Word Of Mouth Marketing" and "Buzzmarketing". Seth Godin was there before many others were and was spreading ideas that others later realized and jumped onto.

Seth was a marketing Genius behind some of the success of Yahoo's early growth and has since gone on to write some of the most successful books on marketing.

This book is one of my favorites to read and re-read giving insight into the hows and whys of viral marketing. Due to the fast paced changes in our society, some of the examples may seem outdated since they involve companies in the early dot com era, but the messages are just as powerful and are not lessened in any way.

Very interesting ideas that helped me think of marketing in a different way. I found that many of the examples were dated, as the book was written before the dot-com crash. We really returned to a business as more usually model than anyone thought we would at that time. However, still some very valuable ideas. They were a bit over-stated and the book is a bit repetitive, but still some good value.
