This book is primarily aimed at educators writing grants for school or community projects. It is not particularly useful if you intend to write a scientific grant.

I read the reviews of so many books before I picked this one and I am so glad that I did! It is an excellent start. It allows you the opportunity to springboard into the most complex or simple grant proposal plan.

I started from nothing, only knowing that a grant goes on a piece of paper(s). This book remains an invaluable resource.

I must say this is exactly the kind of book i've been looking for, since I entered architecture school I have been trying to find literature for a good design process applied to architecture. The book covers the architectural design process from start to finish with many helpfull insights into the various stages of the complex design process involved in building. In my opinion, it is a vaery complete book, not just talking about building aspects, but client relationships, cost concerns, while at the same time realizing the diference of the academic and work reality. A must buy in my opinion.

I began as a beginner in writing papers, and conducting interviews. Then, I picked up Dr. Leifman's guide and it explained clearly and interestingly every aspect of the interview. Far from being a boring overview of the subject, Leifman's guide is clearly five-star meterial. I read this book, and afterwards was able to perform the well-explained tasks with ease and finesse. Dr. Leifman is a knowlegable expert on the subject. I particularly enjoyed his description of the resume, and I beleive firmly that, having read his guide, my resume is as good as it possibly could be. Thanks to his impeccable intelligence and sharp wit, I consider myself to be an expert on the covered meterial. Good advice for the unacquainted.......2003-06-19

Specific how-to's with a bit of inspiration mixed in make for a palatable concoction in author Ertelt's "Saving Your Way To Success," a book that financially free-to-be readers not only can look to for ways to climb out of debt, but for ideas about creating and achieving financial wealth as well.

Ertelt, who brings an abundance of personal experience, research and observation to the equation, wastes little time in making a point for his main premise, as evidenced by an opening paragraph that is devoid of fluff - and teeming with optimism:

"Saving is the key to success. There is no other technique available that can generate success for as many people and as powerfully as saving money can. Whether it be minimum wage or a hundred dollars per hour, whether a person is below the poverty line or a multi-millionaire, it makes no difference. Any person can succeed. Saving makes it possible for any individual, no matter what obstacles present themselves, to successfully reach his or her goals for success. It does not matter what age a person is. It does not matter what obstacles may be impeding the path. It only matters how much income the person is saving to produce success. The person saving nothing will not get ahead, because assets, and thus net worth, will not grow. Income alone does not automatically produce an enormous net worth and success. On the other hand, when saving is done wholeheartedly and passionately, it will brings success. The more a person saves, not earns, the more a person gets ahead. Turn saving money into a highly productive program that will save a lot, and saving becomes the key to success."

This is the worst book on saving I have ever read (and I have read quite a few). It's simplistic, treads the reader like they're stupid and the "John Frugal and William Spendall" examples are useless. It doesn't have any new insights on saving and doesn't teach you anything that you haven't read elsewhere (and much better).

By the way: two of the reviews are from Fargo, that's where the writer is from. What a coincidence!

Justin Ertelt's Saving Your Way To Success is a very practical, "user friendly" guide to the art, craft, and science of saving money. The informative text is adroitly written for readers of all experience levels, from teenagers saving for college to workers nearing retirement age. From conserving money on needs and luxuries, to teaching fiscal responsibility to one's children, to budgeting one's time, to coping with debt and putting success in life first and foremost on one's list of goals, Saving Your Way To Success is a useful, motivational, no-nonsense book and highly recommended to anyone wanting to enhance their money management skills and secure their personal financial goals.

"Saving Your Way to Success" is not a very well known book, but if you are looking for a book on the basics of saving, budgeting, debt and the like, I definitely recommend this book. Something in particular I like about this book is the personal stories of how and/or what Justin has done to save money with examples of how the reader can use the money saving ideas. The book has enough research and information on how and why to budget and save, but with the added personal touch of the "How I Did It" sections based on the author's personal experience and the "John Frugal and William Spendall" sections pitting saver versus spending explaining to the reader how to use the money saving ideas makes this book a must read.
