Mining the miners.......2007-09-24
i dont personalluy have anything for, nor anything against, larry and the countless other individuals and companies that produce an amazing amount of trading books, tools, programs, lectures and so forth. in fact, i myself wrote the book "beginners guide to computer assisted trading", which amazon sold for several years. the truth of the matter is.... those who cannot do, teach... meaning that around 90% of the stuff you are being offered is by people who were, in reality, not successful in, or never even actually did what they are claiming. just think logically, if YOU had a great way to beat the markets, would you waste time telling others how to do it? of course not! i personally stopped trading several years ago as i realized that technical analisys and simple to moderatly complex trading models no longer work. however, i do contract work for one of the worlds most successful private hedge funds and i can tell you that yes, if you have a big bankroll and at least 1/2 dozen rocket scientists you may find a way to beat the market for a while. but markets can always change (ususally quickly) in a way that can turn a good system into a dud. final food for thought, never mentioned in the financial press: the longer you stay in the markets, the higher your risk of ruin....
be carefull.......2007-05-26
I was happy and making money slowly and steadily until i read this book. after reading is my account dropped from +50% for the year to +22% so far. his statistics are way over fitted. i realized that once i tested his data. the thing that i never understood is that why do these people keep publishing books if they are making millions. i know the answer now. they are not making millions trading , they are making it selling the book. maybe you can figure a way to make money with his stuff, but i couldn't.

Good information, Poorly written.......2006-04-03
After reading most of this book, I realized that there are some good common sense tips that we just don't think about. I immediately applied them and found some successful use of these tips. However, the book chock full of poor explanations, some awful grammar (poor editing?), and certainly is a chore to soak in. Charts leave you hanging, as they are poorly or lazily explained. I read many technical networking books from Cisco Press, electronics engineering books, financial books, chess books, and other publications which many others would find difficult to read. I find this text near the top of the most difficult to read (speed-readers will not learn anything). When comparing this book to other texts, it seems he's making a desparate attempt to cram his whole life's reaserch (his "working thesis"), abridged into one small book, with absolutely no effort to promote retention. I believe Larry Willaims to be an expert on trading, and I welcome any info he has to offer, but I see him as no teacher. It would be better for him to teach a string of writers, and practical acedemic teachers his techniques and let them connect his knowledge to the common reader.

S&P 500 trader........2004-08-26
Mr. Williams specializes in the S&P 500. You won't find a better or more proven trader than Mr. Williams. He is very generous with his techniques and trading methods, complete with well researched studies of successful trades. His ideas can also be applied to other trading vehicles. You can't lose reading any and all of Mr. William's books. Well worth the purchase price, as you are capturing over 35 years of successful and documented trading experience.

Underrated Book of the Year.......2004-02-17
Ever watch, "Who's Line is it Anyway?" and wonder how the heck these people can think so fast?
Improv comedy players use conversational rules, tools and tactics in their performances so that they don't trip each other up and so that, conversationally speaking, they end up going down the same path and end up at the same point.
This book explains each of these rules and tools and shows how their use can benefit anyone, in any conversation, although, the author's particular emphasis is on the work place.
The core of this book is excellent. It shows in concrete terms how socially adept people quickly create rapport.
Why do some people get along so well with many others, while others get along with just a select few?
I believe this book indirectly answers this question.
It allowed me to see the weaknesses in my communication style and now I invariably cringe when I see theese weaknesses in others.
I do have a few gripes about the book though. The marketing for this book is very poor. DO NOT judge this book by it's cover. Or its title for that matter.
Also, the examples that are presented before and after each chapter, although very helpful to demonstrate the author's point, are cheezy and contrived.
But again, these are minor things compaired to the invaluable knowledge presented.

This book provides an excellent literature review on tourism impacts. The text is quite readable but it is not superficial, as many texts in tourism management.

I have a real hardback copy of Dale's book by the same title. Nothing on this CD comes from Dale's book. The title's of the chapters are all different, the forward totally different.
This is a ripoff.
And, the material certainly does not compare with the real Dale Carnegie books.

interesting historical overview, useful documents.......1999-09-15
I found this publication useful and interesting in a vast field with many good publicatons. The value added here is that the authors brought together a good historical selection of the original documents from official EU Member State governments and other sources. This gives a very good feel of how the viewpoints were developing at the time. The introductory texts for each period covered also provide a concise overview and analysis of the period, main events and actors. Interesting and recommended.
