I find this text to be easy to read and understand, and with the companion CD which emulates the actual computer testing environment I recommend it as a great resource for the Series 7 & 63 tests. At this price for a textbook and a CD its also a great value. This resource is not all inclusive and you should also supplement your knowledge base with additional resources and classes if possible.

Very very very poorly written. The book jumps from one subject to another and then back again with no reason. There are other books out there that are much better. You cannot pass with this book. Believe me, I know.

I definitely agree with all of the other people that gave this one star. I have seen several different Series 7 books and this one is by far the worst. The book is disorganized, difficult to read, and missing a lot of important information. Save your money and buy another book.

I like the way Hollander shares practical tips from business leaders' on finding a mentor, securing financing, making contacts and contacts. I also found real-life stories gave the book a tangible feel. I ended up starting a business selling books on Amazon, because I realized, while reading this book, and others, that I was looking for part-time work rather than a full time business proposition. I wanted more family time, rather than less. If you want to work hard, and long hours, there are many good options here to choose from. If you're looking for a low-risk venture, with almost no investment income, or overhead, where you can set your own hours and make great money at the same time, try selling books on Amazon, or any other product that interests you. I'm making more than I made working 9-5.

Excellent overview for women, about opening and running a small business.

Linda Hollander, the Wealthy Bag Lady, provides a overview of the many issues and challenges a women entrepreneur-to-be will encounter when opening a business. She does not go into any topic in depth, but does cover most topics enough to let you know where you will need to do additional research.

Hollander also tells personal stories of her struggles, and mistakes, of opening her own highly successful business, The Bag Lady (provides custom imprinted bags to small business).

Pros:
-Hollander has multiple successful business, and knows what she is talking about.
-Great overview of all the issues women entrepreneurs must deal with.
-Written by a woman, for women.
-Covers not just business, but dealing with family, friends, and maintaining life balance.

Cons:
-Does not go into any area in depth.
-Reference books noted at the end are not divided into topics.
-Stories from other women business owners could have been longer.

Great book, and on my recommended list for women entrepreneurs-to-be!

Handbag Business.......2007-05-13

Unfortunately, I was misled by the title. When I bought this book, I had thought that it was a book for a handbag business, but it's not. The book is okay. However, if you really want to start a business (of any sort) try the Dummies book. I have read both the Starting An Online Business All-in-One Desk Referce For Dummies Starting an Online Business All-in-One Desk Reference For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech)) and The Home Based Business For Dummies, Home-Based Business For Dummies (For Dummies (Business & Personal Finance))and they both seem to be provide more details for the "serious" entrepreneur who is committed to reading it.

Men can learn a lot from this book.......2005-08-23

While Bags to Riches is targeted to women, men will find benefit in its pages as well.

On a nuts-and-bolts level Linda's book is one of the most practical books I've read. Each of the 18 chapters contain action steps that are approachable and allow a budding entrepreneur to get started...creating forward momentum.

On a concept level I found myself having greater insight into the mindset of the women whom I do business with. Throughout the book Linda has Success Secrets which highlight the natural beneficial traits of women in business. For a man it's like having access into a "women only" chat room. It is said that men and women are different, but once you're conscious of those differences a synergy occurs. This book will help any man recognize and understand those differences.

This is a pitiful attempt at writing a book. Tons of mistakes and a 2 year old could have written it. (i.e. online buyers are most willing to psend under $50.00 for a product). Doesn't he even have a spell checker? He lists a bunch of websites at the end to visit, but most the links don't even work.

A Self-Publsher Needs To Follow Book Advice.......2005-08-04

Donny Lowy owns a wholesale company I purhased merchandise from him. What he said I was getting and what I received which was useless was a major chasm. You have to pay by check so you can't chargeback, pictures on his site are only used for representation purposes.

This is the first book I've read where there are actual mistakes in it. References to items that are not in the book. Stay away from his books and especially his company.

A Handbook of Dispute Resolution examines the theoretical and practical developments that are transforming the practice of lawyers and other professionals engaged in settling disputes, grievance-handling, and litigation. The book explains what distinguishes alternative dispute resolution (ADR) from other forms of dispute resolution and examines the role ADR can play in the many situations where litigation would once have been the only option, such as family law and company law. In some areas, such as industrial relations, ADR is not an alternative, but the main method of conflict intervention.

In this study, several contributors draw on their experience in negotiating between management and unions. Detailed attention is also given to the wide variety of methods open to the non-litigious, including the use of ombudsmen, negotiation, small-claims courts, and mini-trials.

Because ADR is a new concept, questions about the training of mediators and about the role of central government have not yet been resolved. The final section of the book is devoted to discussion of these issues, with case studies drawn from the international arena -- China, Canada, Australia, Germany, and North America -- to place ADR in a cultural and historical perspective.
