Very comprehensive coverage of Repo and money markets.......2004-03-12

This is a very good book on repo, money markets, and bank ALM. It is written in very accessible style and has very clear examples, descriptions, worked examples, and screen pictures. The author has also demonstrated how repo fits in with the other money markets. Highly recommended, a good guide to repo and stock lending.

Identity Crisis.......2004-01-23

It is interesting that most, if not all, of the 5-star reviews below appear to be written by the author's? aliases. For instance, the Oct. 7, Oct, 20, both Oct 22 reviews, and the Nov. 4 review all currently originate from X Moore from "John Rasheed", although in the past they've all shown London or Cape Town origin as "John Rasheed" sought to cover his tracks.

"Mr. Gagan Singh" writes several negative reviews of other books, but positive reviews of Mr. Choudhry's books. "Mr. Gagan Singh" wrote negative reviews of Ms. Stigum's "The Money Market" and alternately hails from NY, the USA, Capetown or from wherever next this chameleon chooses to hail as the reviews change.

"Matthew Bartlett" is another alias used on two book reviews of Fabozzi's "Collateralized Debt Obligations" book. One of the "Matthew Bartlett" reviews is signed "Moorad Choudhry" and praises the book with 5-stars, but the other review is unsigned and gives the book a one-star review. This is a serious identity crisis.

If you want to buy the best guide to repo and money markets, buy this book - forget what any US-based reviewers are saying casting ridiculous accusations about the author. The book is great - end of story. Buy it!

This book starts off with the basics but then goes into the details of each subject. It goes well beyond the other books which usually say to do or not do something but does not go into the details of why. I hightly recommended this book.

To mitigate the ill-effects of seasonality in the tourism industry, efforts to attract tourists during non-peak seasons must become more effective, but this can be accomplished only by better understanding the nature of low season markets. To enhance our understanding of the fall tourism market, this article presents insights gained from a telephone survey of households in the Great Lakes region. Fall tourists, compared to their summer counterparts, were found to be older, less likely to travel with children, and less active in recreation. Fall color viewing rarely motivated trips and was much more prevalent as an ancillary activity. Distinct types of fall tourists were identified based on patterns of participation in trip activities and whether trips began during the early, middle, or late fall.

The study analysed the seasonality of foreign tourists' space consumption in Estonia using mobile positioning dataset with anonymous roaming data. The method which uses mobile phone positioning coordinates in space-time movement studies in Estonia is called the social positioning method. The dataset allowed analysis of the distribution of foreigners' country of origin in Estonia with the precision of network cells of mobile operators. Privacy of mobile phone holders was guaranteed according to EU regulation. It was concluded that seasonality produces very different and sometimes even opposite tourists' space consumption patterns in Estonia. Coastal areas are popular for summer tourism and not so popular in winter; continental inland areas were used more for winter tourism. The popular summer tourism areas along the Baltic Sea beaches are dominated by one nationality: the Finnish in western Estonia, and the Russians in eastern Estonia. Latvians made up a higher percentage in Saaremaa and Parnu during summer and in Otepaa and Lake Peipsi in winter. The mobile positioning data have great potential for tourism studies and monitoring, but is a sensitive issue due to the fear of surveillance.
